The Maxtrax Static Rope Extension is a strong, reliable addition to your recovery kit, designed to act as a non-stretch (static) link during vehicle recoveries. Whether you need extra reach for a tow recovery or want to extend your winch or kinetic rope setup, this rope gives you the flexibility to adapt to the situation.

Built to integrate seamlessly with the Maxtrax Recovery System, the Static Rope Extension 10 is engineered and tested to work specifically with Maxtrax gear. For safety, the system is designed so the Maxtrax Fuse Shackle is the controlled weak point in the event of an overload—making it essential to include one in every recovery setup.

Simple to use, the rope should always be visually inspected before each use to ensure it’s in safe working condition. It can be connected to your vehicle’s rated recovery points, a Maxtrax Hitch, or other Maxtrax ropes using a Core Shackle or Fuse Shackle. You can use it on its own or join multiple ropes together to achieve the ideal length for your recovery.

For added safety and performance, pair it with a recovery dampener and use recovery tracks to reduce load and strain on your equipment. As with any recovery, ensure all bystanders are clear before starting, and begin by gently taking up slack before increasing force if needed.

Care & Maintenance

Your Maxtrax Static Rope Extension is built tough, but regular care will keep it performing at its best. Always inspect for signs of wear such as cuts, fraying, abrasion, or heat damage before use. If any damage is found, do not use the rope. After use, rinse with clean fresh water, allow it to air dry, and store it in a protective bag to extend its lifespan.

Safety Tips

  • Always use rated recovery points when connecting your gear
  • A Maxtrax Fuse Shackle must be used in every recovery setup
  • Keep all bystanders well clear before beginning recovery
  • Start slowly by gently taking up slack
  • Use a recovery dampener to minimise recoil risk
  • Never use the rope for lifting or conventional towing
  • Consider completing a 4WD recovery course or seeking advice from a local club
