The Maxtrax Core Shackle is exactly what its name suggests—the central connection point in your recovery setup. Designed to link key Maxtrax components together, it’s a lightweight, high-strength soft shackle that plays a critical role in safe and efficient vehicle recoveries. It’s also purpose-built for use with the Maxtrax Winch Ring 120, making it ideal for more advanced recovery techniques like double-line pulls.

As part of the Maxtrax Recovery System, the Core Shackle is engineered and tested to work seamlessly with other Maxtrax gear. For safety, the system is designed so the Maxtrax Fuse Shackle acts as the controlled weak point in the event of an overload—meaning it must always be included in your recovery setup.

Using the Core Shackle is quick and straightforward. Simply loosen the loop, pass it through your recovery point or equipment (such as a winch rope, kinetic rope, static rope, hitch, or winch ring), then secure it back over the knot. When tightened correctly, the shackle forms a strong, reliable connection while remaining easy to remove after use.

For best results, always inspect the shackle before use, ensure it’s connected to rated recovery points, and keep the recovery area clear of bystanders. Pairing your setup with a recovery dampener and recovery tracks will further improve safety and reduce load on your gear.

Built to handle tough recoveries, your Maxtrax Core Shackle still needs regular checks to stay safe and effective. Inspect it before each use for cuts, fraying, abrasion, or heat damage. If any damage is found, do not use it. After use, rinse with clean water, allow it to air dry, and store it in a protective bag to maximise its lifespan.
